GhostDoc v6 Beta with WYSIWYG is Available!

The latest Beta of GhostDoc introduces a new feature that makes XML documentation authoring a breeze – Visual Edition for XML Comments.

The number one challenge authoring XML Comments that we heard from our users has been keeping the valid XML which includes encoding HTML formatting tags, code samples, etc. Many of these don’t even show up until the help docs are generated.

And now we offer a solution to this.

We are looking forward to your feedback on the new features - please feel free to reply in this thread or start a new post in GhostDoc Beta Forum.

Thanks!

Is this a true v6 beta? The filename says v5.5.
My main interest is in support for CodeContracts, which is supposed to come in version 6!
Can you tell me if support for CodeContracts is present in this beta?

Thank you!

Jan, yes, the version says 5.5 but it is Beta for the upcoming v6. We initially have done this for the limited early adopters group but later decided to make it a public Beta.

The CodeContracts support is still on the list but we have not started implementing it at this point.

Thanks!

Thanks for responding. And I'm looking forward to the CodeContracts support. I still have a v4 licence, but will get a v6 licence as soon as it is out of beta.

I use custom rules and work great in Document This. and work in WYSIWYG unless I check the checkbox for use WYSIWYG for Document This. Then it does not use my custom rules but default rule, how can you edit the rules used by WYSIWYG so that my custom rules are maintained.

I tried the Add option in WYSIWYG and it crashes Visual Studio Enterprise 2017.

I entered my email address for the beta. The email I received did not contain a download link, just a link to the article and the forum.

Steve,

Sorry about the confusion. The download starts automatically on the page after you submit the form. I have emailed you the download link.

Thanks!

Thanks, Danny! We are looking into this. Is this happening on a particular section that you add or when you click the Add button itself?

Danny,

I was trying to reproduce the issue and got confused. We will need to ask you some questions regarding your setup and steps to reproduce.

Can you please open a new thread here - http://support.submain.com/community/create-thread.aspx?type=1 - or, if you prefer to keep it a private discussion, open a new ticket -

Just received update 5.6. Is this a new beta or an update to the regular version?
The version numbers are getting a bit confusing.

When are you releasing the next beta version?

Johan, sorry about the confusion. The 5.6 is a regular update to the v5.x. The new Beta will be available soon under he v2018.x.xxx - we will email all Beta users when it is out.

Good since I upgraded to the latest GhostDoc Pro version on my VM and then install Beta it does not show up. I guess because of version numbers.

Wanted to add my appreciation for this feature.  I had recently installed GhostDoc to catch up on its magic and was completely blown away by this!  Very nice work.
