Visual Studio 2019 - Visual Studio still loading the project
Problem reported by K - 10/12/2020 at 2:29 PM
Resolved
Visual Studio 2019 v16.7.5
GhostDoc Community v2020.2.20270
Decent Laptop (i7 10thGen 16GB Ram etc)

This issue is still raring its ugly head.  Literally sat down to my laptop.  Clean desktop, nothing open.  Opened VS2019.  Started a new project.  Added a new .Net Framework Class library.  Added a class. Added a property and then went to document the property with Ctrl+Shift+D.  The dreaded little blue popup appears with the message "The action cannot be performed at this time - Visual Studio still loading the project".

What I've tried
  1. Going into GhostDoc options Tools - GhostDoc - Options - Comment Editor, Use Comment editor for Document This, tried with both enabled and disabled.  Same error.
  2. Waited 10 minutes.  Still get same error.

I'm seeing this issue with GhostDoc for years on and off. Very frustrating.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting that.
The v16.7.5 is the latest released Visual Studio 2019 and we did not test GhostDoc with it. We can only confirm that it is working in v16.7.3. We will test it soon and get back to you shortly.

We tested GhostDoc with Visual Studio 2019 v16.7.5 today and we cannot reproduce the issue you experienced.
Could you please send us the log file from c:\Users\<user>\Documents\SubMain\GhostDoc for VS2019\GhostDoc.log to support@submain.com?

At the time of writing (March 2022), this is still an intermittent problem.

GhostDoc Pro v2022.1.22020
Visual Studio 2022 v17.2.0 Preview 2.0

Also occurs with non-Preview editions of VS 2022.

Hi Micky,

Please download and install the latest GhostDoc v2022.1.22055 from https://submain.com/download/ghostdoc/pro/. Then, please reproduce the issue and send us the log file from c:\Users\<user>\Documents\SubMain\GhostDoc for VS2022\GhostDoc.log to support@submain.com? Please do that on NON-PREVIEW edition of the VS 2022.

Is this only fixed in 2022 version?  What about those of us with a 2021 license?
