Why my vX license is not working with vNew?

Symptoms

  • You purchased vX license with Software Assurance, and it does not work with the vNew even though your subscription is current
  • You purchased vX license with License Protection, and it does not work with the vNew

Cause

All our product licenses are good for the major version. For example, the license key for the v2.x won't work with the v3.x. We send out the vNew license codes to users with License Protection and active Software Assurance subscription shortly after the new major release to the email address on the account.

Solution

If you have not received or misplaced your new license, you can retrieve all your licenses including the newly issues using the My Account page.
